Laura
González Flores (México, 1962) Actualmente
es investigadora en el Instituto de
Investigaciones Estéticas de la UNAM, donde está
realizando el proyecto Taller de
videodocumentación. Imágenes y palabras del siglo XXI.

Received her Ph.D. in Fine
Arts from the University of Barcelona (1998), holds an MFA from the
School of the Art Institute of Chicago (1990) and a
Bachelor in Visual Arts from the National School of Fine
Arts, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). In 1986 received
an award at the National Photography Biennale of Mexico. Member
of the National Research System (SNI - 1999), the Advisory Board of the
National Photographic Archive System (SINAFO- 2002) and of the
Fundación Cultural Mariana Yampolsky, A.C. (2002). Author of the
book Photography and Painting, Two
Different Media?, (Barcelona, Gustavo Gili, 2004) and Photographies That Tell Stories
(Lumen, 2007), she has recently coordinated the book Mexico City. Six Photographic Promenades (Fundación
Cultural Televisa, 2008). Since
1994, researcher and professor at the Institute for Aesthetic Research,
National Autonomous University of Mexico (IIE - UNAM). Current project:
